Hi, I'm Brendon Menendez
I'm a full-time music teacher in Seminole Heights, Tampa. I started Seminole Music in 2017 to share my love of music and help adults develop their skills in a patient, supportive, and engaging environment.
I started teaching fresh out of high school — looking back, it seems pretty crazy that I managed to do it. I've been teaching for 8+ years now, and along the way I've learned from all my teachers the tricks of the trade of playing music and teaching it.
Teaching is my full-time job, and I run the business out of my studio in Seminole Heights, Tampa. I offer 1-on-1 personalized lessons in guitar, piano, violin, and ukulele — whether you're an adult picking up an instrument for the first time or refining your technique, I provide structured yet flexible lessons tailored to your musical goals.
I teach adult students exclusively, in person at my studio or online over Zoom. Adults learn in different ways and often bring unique goals or past frustrations, and I'm good at explaining concepts in multiple ways until they click. That patience, flexibility, and LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere is what adult students consistently mention in their reviews.
My approach
Lessons are built around the music you actually want to play. I teach classical, acoustic, and electric guitar; classical and contemporary piano; classical violin foundations; and ukulele for quick, joyful starts. Music theory is woven in as it applies to what you're playing.
